A peek into the life of our superb glazing generalist here at East Fork, Jerome Williams.
Meet Jerome. He's part of our incredible glaze team here at East Fork. He's been on the team for about six months, and we're really happy to have him—partly because he's a seamless glazer, but also because he's a really good cook. He cooks team lunches a lot, and they are always bomb. Jerome is also super fast to lend a hand keeping our factory floor and co-working space looking good and serves on our Safety Committee and Accountability Team— we're so grateful for his skills and generous heart.
Jerome wrote up a list of his five favorite things, and it's a special one for the books. Without any further ado, here they are:
1. My Kids and Family. My kids are one of my favorites because they make the responsibilities of being a father so easy. I'm never surprised when it comes to my kids as far as growth, learning and understanding. They are so smart, talented and well-behaved. I am so proud of Jaylan, 6 and Jamyha, 5. They often remind me of how much they love me by telling me "Love you Dad" at least 20-30 times, and that's after I get home from a 12 hour shift.
3. Triple-P Ent. Triple-P Ent. was founded here in Asheville, NC in 2008. It is a hip-hop/rap movement that my brother and I, and a couple close friends started as just something fun to do. Soon after we started making music, we all realized that we were pretty good at it, and that we should try taking it to another level. So, my brother and I came up with a group name "Bloodline Fam." The name "Bloodline Fam" came from me and my brother being blood brothers. And, our friends that's in the group we consider as family, so that's how we came up with the name as our rap group. Triple-P Ent. is short for "Pro Product Productions Entertainment."
4. Asheville. Home is truly where the heart is, and I learned that soon after moving back to Asheville from living 13 years in foster care in Oklahoma City. I was 19 years old when I was released from foster care. The first place I wanted to go was home [Asheville, NC] and when I arrived, I got off the plane and immediately my heart sunk in to my chest. I felt an overwhelming sensation of security as if the mountains were hugging me. That was a feeling I had never felt before, and it was at that moment I knew I was home.
5. East Fork. I've worked many different jobs in the past from construction, fast food restaurants, working as a trash pick-up truck driver, to working at mission hospital sanitizing operational rooms and surgical tools. I got a lot of experience doing all kinds of work while searching for financial stability and a job to start a career at. East Fork has been so good to me and my family. I am proud to be a part of something as special as East Fork. I am so grateful for the opportunity that Alex, Connie, and John have given me. I will continue to be the best Me as our company grows and I will exceed all expectations in doing my part and going beyond to reach our goals.
East Fork is the best job I've ever had and it is the last job I'll ever have. I'm proud to be here. Our values aren't just words written in our handbook—we actually live it and hold each other accountable daily.
Thank you, Jerome. We are so lucky to have you!
