French Rose Jelly

10% of your purchase of this item will go to East Oakland, California’s Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project, an organization chosen by Samin Nosrat.

  • In a sign that life can be fairytale-like, this jelly is made by cooking crystallized rose petals in copper cauldrons.
  • Made in France by Maison Francis Miot
  • Ingredients: water 65%, cane sugar 32%, crystalized rose petals 1.3% (sugar, natural flower, gum arabic, coloring: cochineal carmines, aroma), natural flavour of rose 0,65%, concentrated lemon juice, gelling agent: agar-agar.
  • 3.5 oz jar

Aromatic (obviously) and sweet, your friend here is great on scones, and buttered toast, a little smear on top of a panna cotta or crème brûlée, a drizzle on vanilla ice cream, a glaze for caramelized carrots or chicken in the last 20 minutes of oven roasting.

Get two: One is a gift for you and the other is for someone who will enjoy talking with you about those French caldrons filled with rose petals, and taking turns describing the taste.
