Walnut Serving Set-Great deal but requires a little aftercare.

These are really good tools at a fantastic price, but they might require a little effort after purchasing to make them the best they can be. I bought the set in walnut for my wife. She likes them and has used them a lot when cooking on the stove. What I noticed after some use is that the grain opened up and they got somewhat rough. This was easily remedied by a few minutes work with some 240 grit sandpaper and a good coating of food grade mineral oil. The maker could probably do this prior to selling them, however, it would likely increase the price. Like most things made of natural materials they require a little extra effort, but it is time well spent if the result is a beautiful object and years of use.
