Dinner can mean more than just eating an evening meal. Sustenance is food, prepared with tenderness and care to be enjoyed around a table with others. It’s this age-old form of gathering that opens up space for swapping thoughts, fostering relationships, building strong bridges, and making plans to actively improve the health, wellness, and joyfulness of our communities.
The Long Table Dinner Series invites members of the Western North Carolina
community and beyond to gather for a meal at our factory in Asheville, NC.
We’ll be joined by leaders of trail-blazing regional non-profits, business owner,
activists, chefs, and more to kindle conversation on topics ranging from
sustainability to racial equity to design and beyond. Breaking bread is what
stoked the fires of East Fork in our early days— years later, it’s still the best way
we know to help ourselves and others feel whole, happy and connected.
Our mission is to inspire meaningful and impactful exchanges that illuminate the connective tissues of the work. East Fork hopes that these radical, piquant dialogues and new relationships ultimately extend beyond the length of our table, and into the lives of our guests. Ticket costs will be on a donation basis, with a sliding-scale suggested pricing to make the event accessible to many.
We’ll kick off the series on Thursday, March 14th with a conversation on Design
and a meal prepared by chef Brian Canipelli of Cucina 24. We’ll welcome
Asheville-based interior and architectural design studio, Shelter Collective and
the urban design-focused firm, Urban3 as our co-host to explore how we can
bring a design-minded framework to problem solve in unlikely places. We look
forward to seeing you at the table.
