Stainless Vegetable Peeler
Simple kitchen tools like a vegetable peeler don’t get the thought they’ve earned, considering how much they get put to work. Investing in a good makes kitchen grunt work like peeling potatoes more enjoyable, and last for a lifetime.
Obviously a peeler is your go-to tool for root vegetable season, but a good vegetable peeler can be used for so much more. I use mine for making nice, thick lemon, orange, and grapefruit “twists” for martinis and negronis, or freeze a wedge of a good blue cheese and use your peeler to slice off paper-thin curls to put on top of salads and roasted vegetables.

Orange & Thyme Whiskey Drink
I'm all for a glass of perfectly chilled rosé or a goes-down-too-easy collins on a balmy summer night, but sometimes you just want to sip on something boozy. You want a drink that you can take your time with. A drink you can sit with - get to know. Since my herb garden is currently spilling over with thyme, I decided to make a thyme syrup to give this old fashioned riff a brighter, herbaceous profile.
