Some weeks, walking around town and just watching the world turn feels like worshipping. Some weeks, it all collapses and it's truly a wonder we manage to keep going. Lately my weeks have felt like both. Last week, East Fork's graphic designer Esteban shared with me Cloud of Petals, a large-scale work by French-American artist Sarah Meyohas, and it's extremely up our alley. Multimedia work considering beauty, labor, gender, technology and so much more. And flowers! So complex, so breathtaking.

Dance it Out:
HEX is an inclusive, safe, freaky and all-around BUMPING bi-monthly dance party that benefits organizations around Asheville, and it is happening this Friday, October 27th at The Mothlight. Equal parts spooky and joyful vibes are expected. This month's party will benefit Compañeros Inmigrantes de las Montañas en Acción (CIMA), who connects, strengthens and organizes communities to take action for immigrants’ rights in Western North Carolina.
