East Fork Pottery Size Chart
If you don't live near one of our stores or you recently discovered us, you may not have had a chance to get up close and personal with our pottery. Seeing, touching, feeling, and comparing is a sensual joy of shopping, for some it’s a crucial step in the purchase process, and it's pretty hard to do online.
This chart provides comparative images of all of our bowls and plates, their exact measurements, and examples of what to use them for. We hope this helps you decide what size works for you.
Plates
When our plates were still made on a potter’s wheel we would say that a good one would exhibit the fullness of the moon. They have a slight upward lip for spill-proof serving and easy stacking, and a plump bare clay rim to frame your masterpiece.

10.5" x 1.13"
10.75" x 2"
Shallow Bowls
Our most popular bowl form: these have a gentle, low-slung curve, nestle nicely within each other, and give the appearance of being at rest like a well-worn river rock.
5.4" x 1.8"
8" x 2.25"
10.3" x 2.5"
Potter's Bowls
The bowls in this series have steeper sides, rounded bottoms, and flat feet. They were designed to be a simple bowl that contains more than it presents and make a particularly beautiful nesting set.

Mugs & Cups
Our best-selling mugs and cups have a soothing hand-feel and slight bit of heft. Their handles took years to perfect and the sides of the mug thin towards the bottom to balance the sturdy and generous rim.

Serving Platters
Substantial and dramatic, we worked hard to get these platters right, and it was worth it. The perfect form for when we want to (gently) encourage family and friends to help themselves.
