A Hand Painting Workshop with Alex Matisse - Asheville

Join Alex Matisse for a two-session hands-on pottery painting workshop at East Fork Asheville. Learn about Alex and East Fork’s early history with surface decoration, and his return to his roots through East Fork’s new hand painted collection. In the first class, Alex will take participants through a mini painting bootcamp, breaking down a design into its component parts and teaching the specific brush strokes used to make the Tulip Crown design. Students will take home a plate to practice on and return the next week to paint their Plates or Coupes with guidance from Alex.

Both classes will have drinks and snacks from some of our local favorites provided. After the workshop, we’ll fire the decorated pieces and have them ready for pickup at our Asheville store. No experience necessary!
