East Fork’s core colors make up our year-round palette. Seasonal colors come and go with the seasons, while limited colors are produced in smaller one-time runs or for special releases. Start with core colors to build your collection over time, or mix in seasonal and limited colors as they catch your eye.

We’ve brought retired colors back before, but a past return doesn’t guarantee a future one. If you have a favorite, keep an eye out for our Seconds Sales where hard-to-find colors may surface, and follow our email announcements and Instagram for re-releases.

We make our pottery with a blend of stoneware clays and minerals that we develop in-house and iterate on nonstop. We source our materials from the American Southeast which helps minimize our carbon footprint and keeps our products rooted in the land we call our home.

East Fork’s clay is rich in iron, as it has been since the beginning, and through a process of limiting the oxygen in the kiln during part of the firing, iron molecules are drawn to the surface of the clay, resulting in our signature iron spots, also lovingly referred to as speckling.

All East Fork pottery is made at our factory in Asheville, North Carolina, using a blend of stoneware clays and minerals sourced from the American Southeast. Our team combines skilled handwork with specialized pottery equipment to shape, finish, and glaze each piece. We then fire our pottery in gas kilns using a reduction process that brings out signature iron speckles and natural glaze variations.

Yes. East Fork pottery is dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe. Our pottery is designed to fit in most standard home dishwashers and is durable enough for commercial dishwashers, too. The only exception is pottery that is made with decaled patterns, like the pots in the The Matisse Collection, which we recommend washing by hand. You can read more about how to care for our pottery here.

East Fork will happily exchange merchandise, issue a store credit, or process a refund to the original form of payment within 30 days of merchandise being received if you are unsatisfied with your order. You can read our full return policy here.

If you’re unsure where to begin, we like to recommend starting with our Bitty Bowl or Tiny Cup to get a good feel of how our pottery fits in your home and what the colors look like in person.

Just as things change with the seasons, our pottery has natural variations. Our reduction-firing process gives each piece its own mix of color, surface texture, and signature iron speckles—some pots have more, others fewer. Along with the exposed clay rim, these variations are part of what makes each piece distinctly East Fork.

Size and appetite! The Ice Cream Bowl and Soup Bowl are the same shape, but with different capacities. The Ice Cream Bowl holds 1¼ cups. The Soup Bowl is its much bigger sibling, holding 3½ cups. Our Size Guide is a really handy place to compare forms.

The Breakfast Bowl and the Ice Cream Bowl both hold the same capacity (1¼ cups) but are different shapes. The Breakfast Bowl is wider and shallower, with a broad base, while the Ice Cream Bowl is rounder and deeper, with steep sides. Our Size Guide is a really handy place to compare forms.
